Belgian CF User Group version 2.0
I was asked to talk about building Flex applications using a ColdFusion back end at the second meeting of the Belgian ColdFusion User Group yesterday. The meeting took place at the Adobe offices in Brussels. It was the second meeting of the brand new Belgian ColdFusion User Group (www.cfforum.eu). Congratulations guys, it is good to see that European CF usergroups are getting out of their 'hibernate mode'.
Around 20 people attended the meeting. I enjoyed it, there was a good interaction with lots of questions and discussion.
I am planning to post an entry on the application that I built during the session … all I need to do is find time. Stay tuned.
Prisma IT sessions at MAX 2008
If you're thinking about checking out my 'Building ColdFusion powered Flex Applications' session at MAX USA this year and haven't registered yet … hurry! 2 sessions are sold out already and registrations for the third session go so fast that a 4th session has been added last week.
Prisma IT will be doing 4 sessions at MAX Europe this year. Mark van Hedel will be doing a 'Building ColdFusion – AJAX' applications session and I am scheduled to do 2 'Building ColdFusion powered Flex Applications' sessions and an 'Object Oriented ColdFusion' session.
ColdFusion & Flex/AIR Awareness sessions

Prisma IT & Adobe are organizing 'The Power of RIA' events in Brussels and Amsterdam. Based on the succesful 'Flex Awareness sessions' we have been organizing with Adobe during the last 2 years (we had one of them yesterday with – again – a full house), these FREE events will show you the power of creating Rich Internet Applications with Flex, AIR and ColdFusion.
Chances are you already are working with (or have seen) Flex. Did you know there's a product that is just like Flex, but runs on the server? It is a very powerfull RAD (or Agile as it is now called) programming language, that enables you to build J2EE applications. The syntax of the languages (CFML and CFScript) are a lot like MXML and AScript.
If you don't know ColdFusion and build RIA's, you should look at ColdFusion. You'll like it. Or even better, come to one of the events in Brussels on October 23 or Amsterdam on November 28 [register].
I hope to see you there!
