This has gone too far
It happened yesterday. I was boarding an Alaska/Horizon flight from Los Angeles, Ca to San Jose, Ca. After the 'regular' security stuff: coat off, belt off, phone, keys, wallet and the rest in a crate, notebook in a seperate crate, shoes off, NOT in a crate but on the belt, soles DOWN!, through the scanner device and hoping you didn't forget anything, I finally boarded the plane. I was just entering the plane when we were told to get off again, back to the terminal because of a 'mechanical failure'. After a few minutes I saw a van with what appeared to be the airline's 'mechanical failure rapid response team' driving to the plane. 5 minutes later we could board again and all seemed well .. until the announcement. The announcer mentioned that although the problem hadn't been fixed, we would still leave. 'What was the problem?' someone asked. 'Te plane has a broken toilet seat' was the response. So, they grounded a plane, got everybody off board and accepted a flight delay … because of a broken toilet seat. I then realized that we have taken this whole security thing over the top. It has gone too far.
MAX application (finally) available for download

Speaking at MAX, cf.Objective(anz) & SoTR
I'll be doing 3 hands on sessions at MAX in Los Angeles this year. The sessions will be about 'Taking CF applications off line with AIR' and we'll be covering ColdFusion 9's ORM feature as well as the VERY cool ColdFusion-AIR integration library, the OpenOffice integration, and PDF capabilities of CF9. If you come to MAX this year, drop by (and hurry, because the sessions are close to being sold out). Right after MAX, I'll be covering the same topic (as a hands off session) at Scotch on the Road in Amsterdam, Brussels, London and Milan. And then it's off to Melbourne, Autralia to talk about the same topic at cf.Objective(anz). We have developed a great example application (at least we think so) to show off all these cool new features of CF9. See you there!

I promissed everyone that was at one the 4 CFPoweredFlex labs this year that I would post the files today. Here they are.
For everyone that was at one of my labs, I hope it was useful and that you enjoyed yourself just like I did. As mentioned during the sessions: if you have a question, send me an email. If you have any comments on the content of this year's lab, let me know so we can make improvements for next year.

And guess what … ColdFusion is among the best rated platforms. Several leading magazines have picked up the article: JavaWorld, CIO Magazine and InfoWorld all have the article.
